Nanci Bell’s Seeing Stars® program develops Symbol Imagery—the ability to auditorily perceive and visually image letters and sounds in words—is a sensory-cognitive function that underlies accurate reading and spelling skills. People with weak Symbol Imagery often struggle with learning to read and spell and can be diagnosed with Dyslexia. Once Symbol Imagery is developed, individuals can respond to instruction for help with reading and help with spelling, as the orthographic patterns common in English are more easily learned. Lindamood-Bell often works with both children with Dyslexia and adults with Dyslexia, as well as a wide range of other learning disabilities.
